Kunsthaus Zürich Announces Summer Exhibition on Swiss Modernism
Opening on 7 June, the landmark show draws on rarely seen private collections and challenges received narratives about Switzerland's place in 20th-century art.
The Kunsthaus Zürich has announced its most ambitious summer programme in recent memory: a 200-work survey of Swiss Modernism from 1920 to 1980, drawing on loans from seventeen private collections alongside the museum's own holdings.
The exhibition, titled Eigene Moderne, aims to reassess the contribution of Swiss artists to international movements including Concrete art, the Zürich Dada revival, and the Basel school of graphic design. Opening night is 7 June, with the exhibition running through 14 September.
