Zürich Film Festival Announces Record 210 Submissions for 2026 Edition
Organisers say international interest in the festival has never been stronger, with submissions up 18% on last year and a new focus section dedicated to Alpine cinema.
The Zürich Film Festival has received 210 feature film submissions for its 2026 edition — a record high and an 18% increase on the previous year, organisers announced on Wednesday. Festival director Christian Jungen attributed the growth to the festival's rising international profile following several high-profile world premieres in recent years.
New for 2026 is a dedicated Alpine Cinema section, showcasing films set in or produced by filmmakers from mountain communities across Switzerland, Austria, and northern Italy. The festival runs from 24 September to 4 October 2026. Accreditation opens on 15 May.
